Ugh.

Ugh.
I'm sorry.
I don't feel like doing anything today...
You wanna read something I wrote?
Sure. I'll let you read the Oratory that I wrote for my 7th grade Intro to Forensics class. It's about why kids(8 and up) should have cell phones. Enjoy.
--

There was once an 8 year old boy. That boy would have done anything to have a cell-phone. He begged and pleaded his parents for one, but they never responded. There are many reasons why a child should have and want a cellular device. People of the age 8 and up should have a cell phone because it gives whoever cares about them a sense of security, it makes the child happy, and it improves their social life, therefore; everyone 8 and up should have a cell-phone.

Many children have cell phones. According to Carnegie Mellon University’s website, My Secure Cyber Space.com, this trend is even more marked in countries outside the United States of America; for example, in New Zealand 84% of children have a cell phone by the age of 14. One of the many reasons parents get children cell phones is it gives them a sense of security. It gives them a piece of mind to know that their child can call them or the police in case of emergency. Jennifer O’Donnell of About.Com notes that if a child has a very busy schedule or an unpredictable one, a cell phone could help them stay in touch with their parents and keep their parents up to date on their schedule. According to Vanessa Van Petten from On Teens Today.com, when children have a cell phone, it makes it easier to makes plans, pick-up time, and pick-up locations so the child does not have to wait in an unsafe place or borrow a stranger’s phone. Also, GPS features allow a parent to keep tabs on their child at all times. According to an online survey from Harris Interactive, 80% of teenagers surveyed say that their cell phone provides a sense of security while on the go.

Having a cell phone can make a child happy. Having a cell phone makes a child feel like they are grown up. Having a cell phone makes a child feel that their parents trust them as a person to carry around a $200 object. To the parent, it might cost $200, but to the child, the little electronical item that is no bigger than their hand, is worth a million bucks. They would do anything to protect that little thing, and when they have it, it makes them feel happy. A child would be happy with any type of phone whether it is a $40.00 FireFly or a $200 phone complete with a MP3 player and a keyboard. There are many different services that a parent can get for their child. Vanessa on On Teens Today.com made a list of phones that are child safe like the FireFly that has two buttons designated for mom and dad, or the TicTalk that comes preloaded with 5 educational games. Not to mention all the special services that wireless companies have from GPS features, to features that enables the parent to restrict what numbers that the child can call and receive calls from. With all these features, the kids will be happy with their cell phone, and the parents will know that their child is safe.

There are many reasons to why a child should have a cell phone. One of these reasons in that it would improve their social life. According to a national survey from CTIA and Harris Interactive, 47% of United States teens say their social life would end or be worsened without their cell phone, and 57% of teens credit their mobile device with improving their life. This study also found that 4 out of 5 teens carry a wireless device, a 40% increase since 2004. Vanessa at On Teens Today.com says that 13 year old Morgan Pozgar competed against thousands of people in the LG National Texting Championship on April 21, 2007. She won $25,00 by texting the word supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in 42 seconds. This shows that having a cell phone doesn’t just improve a child’s social life, it can also get them a big chunk of change.

That 8 year old boy that once begged and pleaded for a cell phone, but his parents never answered is now a 13 year old teenager that has one of the coolest cell phones ever. His cell phone has a touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. This 13 year old teenager feels safe wherever he goes. This 13 year old teenager is happy 99% of the time. This 13 year old teenager has a better social life. This 13 year old teenager with a cool cell phone that was once an 8 year old boy that begged and pleaded for one, is now telling everyone why children 8 and up should have a cell phone.

So
Uh
Yeah
I hoped you like that?
My forensics teacher did. Or she at least liked everything else I did... 'Cause she got mad at me for not going onto Junior Varsity Forensics
Seriously
She actually wrote in my 7th grade yearbook, and I quote, "Cody! I am so mad at you for not doing 4n6 next year!"
Okay
That wasn't actually quoted
Because I can't find my yearbook from that year.
But I do have a pretty good memory
So, that's actually pretty accurate
So
Uh
I'ma go now.
Though I'm kind of reluctant to
Because I'll be really bored whenever I leave...
Sigh
I leave now
Today, I saw: The Dan 3.0 video(s?)
Today, I heard: Me playing my clarinet(I was awesome, btw(I'm so modest))
Today, I touched: the Kool-Aid container. Because I was making Kool-Aid.
Today, I smelled: my cork grease. Again.
            Today, I tasted: Kool-Aid!
Today, I felt: Anger towards my ex-girlfriend for bringing up stuff that apparently still angers me.

So

Uhm.
Hi?
If you really knew me, you'd know that I am not good with words.
Which now makes me realize that I probably shouldn't have made a blog...
But
I don't care!
Yay!
Ugh.
Who knew it'd be this hard?
Well, I guess I'll do one of those "Get to know you things" you do on the first day of school.
OH!
I'll save that for later on in the blog.
Right now, I'll just talk about school stuff, for I am a nerd, geek, band geek, [insert more here]. (As I sit here listening to Owl City... Lawl.)
Anywho
As I said, I'm in band.
I play the clarinet and flute, though I don't play the flute in band. I just know how to play it.
I am currently going into my freshmen year, though I won't be at the high school, for my school system is stupid.
Here is my school system: 1-4, Elementary
                                        5-6, Middle School
                                        7-9, Junior High
                                        10-12, High school
In this school system, there are too many Elementaries and not enough Middle schools and Junior Highs (And probably High schools) to back them up. Seriously. Our school system has 9 elementaries, 2 Middle schools, 2 Junior highs, and one high school. I am told that they will be making a 9th grade academy type thing. But. I will be out of 9th grade (And probably high school) by the time they start building it.
ANYWHO
I'm going into 9th grade year. I'll be in the 9th Grade Symphonic Band, German 1(Which I have to take a bus to and from the high school every day for), Pre-AP Physical Science, Pre-AP Geometry, Pre-AP English(Waah! It doesn't have a special name), and Arkansas History/SomeComputerClass(A semester for each one).
I do fairly well in school, excelling at Band, Math, and Science. I do not like History. At all. =)
I'm fairly good at English, except I'm not very good at putting thoughts into words, though I have been getting better. (Wee!)
And It's hard to blog when your friends keep bothering you on Gmail...
Ugh.
